The United Nations Refugee Agency is inviting applications from young Africans for the UNHCR TagDev Scholarship 2.0 program.

The United Nations UNHCR TagDev Scholarship 2.0 offers full academic support including tuition, living stipend, travel, and housing costs to young Africans interested in pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture.

Education for Refugees: The UNHCR TAGDev Scholarship 2.0 Program is now open for the 2025/2026 Academic Year.

The TAGDev 2.0 (Transforming African Agricultural Universities to meaningfully contribute to Africa’s growth and development, phase 2.0) is a collaboration between The Regional University Forum for Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM), Mastercard Foundation, the Global Confederation of Higher Education Associations for Agricultural and life Sciences (GCHERA) and 12 African universities.

The TAGDev 2.0 programme was created to revolutionize agricultural education by strengthening universities and Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions to better serve communities by skilling and equipping students and their institutions to drive inclusive, equitable and climate resilient transformative agriculture and agri-food systems, with a strong emphasis on entrepreneurship.

Eligibility Requirements for United Nations UNHCR TagDev Scholarship 2.0

To be considered for the United Nations UNHCR TagDev Scholarship 2.0, you must:

  • Be a young African, both male and female,
  • Be under the age of 35 and
  • Be interested in pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture
  • Be willing to participate in the program’s information-sharing sessions regarding the application process.
  • In addition, those with disabilities, asylum seekers, refugees, and people who have been internally displaced are strongly encouraged to apply.

To apply for the UNHCR TagDev Scholarship 2.0, interested and qualified candidates should;

  • Select your preferred country of study from the available options.
  • The application process will be in two stages. The first stage is an application for admission to the programme of choice (Only one) submitted to the University of Cape Coast.
  • The second stage is an application for the TAGDev 2.0 scholarship submitted to RUFORUM. Both stages have to be done concurrently.
